Home Charging Station Options
There are many choices when it comes to car charging stations for your home. They come in all different shapes and sizes. Your biggest decision will be the voltage for you in-home charging station. Using higher voltage means your car will charge faster, but it can also be more expensive to install. It’s up to you, and our expert technicians will help you choose what’s best for you
Option 1 – 120v Charging Stations
These charging stations use a regular plug, just like most of the plugs in your home. It takes these about 9 hours to charge your car for a 40-mile drive, so take this into consideration when you’re making your decision. If you don’t drive much or your commute is short, you don’t need to invest a lot of money to get your station up and running and keep you going.
Option 2 – 240v Charging Stations
240v charging stations use the same type of plug as your washing machine does. They average about 10 miles per hour of charge, though this will vary based on the type of car you have and the particular charging station you install. If you have a longer commute, don’t have access to a charging station at work, or like to have the flexibility to drive farther without waiting around for a charge, this might be the best option for you.
Option 3 – Specialized or Extra Powerful Charging Stations
If you need to charge your vehicle extra fast, we can give you a solution that will make that happen. A few vehicles, like the Tesla, also have charging options specific to that vehicle. These may charge the vehicle faster or interface better with it. If you need one of these solutions, our technicians will help you choose the one that’s best for you.
