DIY Eco-Friendly Cleaning Solutions

Are you really sure those commerical cleaners you’re using are leaving your home free of your family’s dirt and grime? And if so — then what about the toxic and polluting substances they’re also leaving behind?
There are many inexpensive, easy-to-use DIY products which can safely be used in place of commercial household products. If you have an itch to save some money and live green, try out these easy DIY cleaners from products that are probably already sitting right in one of your cabinets:
Mix in a spray bottle:
Pour ¼ to a ½ cup white vinegar
Add 2 tablespoons of baking soda
Few drops of your chosen essential oil
Fill the bottle to the top with water
Give it a good shake and let it settle before using.
Homemade Citrus Degreaser
Mix in a spray botte:
2 cups of warm water
2 tablespoons of baking soda
2 teaspoons of castille soap
20 drops of lemon juice
Spray on grease and wipe away with a damp towel.
Mix in a spray bottle:
1/2 gallon of water
1/2 cup ammonia
16 oz. rubbing alcohol
1 teaspoon Dawn dish soap
Use a microfiber wipe to clean glass with this recipe.
All-Natural Kitchen Cleaner
Mix in a glass spray bottle:
1 cup distilled white vinegar
1 cup water
3 drops tea tree oil
3 drops grapefruit essential oil
Shake the bottle and spray when needed
Pour 1-2 cups of white vinegar into a plastic spray bottle
Heat it up in the microwave until very warm
Pour 1 tablespoon of Dawn dish soap into the spray bottle
Gently shake until they are equally combined.
Mold and Mildew Remover
Pour 1 cup of white vinegar into a spray bottle
Add twenty drops of tea tree oil and shake
Spray onto the mold or mildew and let sit for 10 minutes
Dampen a cloth with hot water and rub the stain.
